Vermontese Progressivism is a center-left to left-wing and culturally left ideology, which represents to ideology of the Vermont Progressive Party, a political party primarily active in the state of Vermont in the United States. It takes inspiration from Bull Moose Progressivism (hence the bull moose in the logo) as well as modern progressive figures like Bernie Sanders.

It supports things that social democrats and democratic socialists generally support, such as more public services, single-payer universal healthcare, pacifism, unionization, empowerment of worker co-operatives, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental protection, and free housing. It is conventionally considered on the "radical left" of American politics, but its policies are not very different from those espoused by many center-left social democratic parties in Europe.

    History

Before the Vermont Progressive Party was formed, it was precedented by Bernie Sanders' successful campaign as an Independent candidate for mayor of Burlington, Vermont in 1981. Since then many progressives have begun to continually win more seats in the City Council of Burlington.

In 2000, the Vermont Progressive Party was officially founded as a political party which has been active ever since, primarily in their home state state of Vermont, with considerable success for a third party.

    • School System - Boosting public education is important, but you also need reforms, especially in standardized testing.
    • Syndicalism - Very good ideas about empowering the workers with unionization, but we're not quite that radical.
    • Democratism - Progressive in name only. Some of our Progressives still work with you from time to time though.
