Venizelism is a nationalist, culturally centrist and economically center left ideology, based on the policies of Greek Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos. It belives in larger welfare programmes, land reform and free education. It is also 
Republican and believes in greater protection of the common people, but it is also very 
irredentists and supports the 
Megali idea.
History
The story of Venizelism starts with the cretan revolution of 1896 against the 
Ottoman empire where young polititian Eleftherios Venizelos became the minister of justice. He became even more distinguished in the next Cretan revolution in 1905 where he and some other revolutionaries declares unification with Greece, but they failed in achieving their main goal.
Venizelos would again enter the political the political stage in 1910 where he would be invited by 
military league to take over, but he refused to do so, without an election first, which he won in a landslide and would spend the next few years implementing reforms. The next important even would be the Balkan wars where he would take over the northern and western Aegean, Epirus, Macedonia and his homeland of Crete. In the great war he would be kicked from the government by the king, because he wanted Greece to join the war, but he would create his own government in Thessaloniki and join the war for the Entante.
After the war, he would argue for the completion of the Megali idea but he refused to start the war without an election first, which he would go on to lose even when he won a majority of the popular vote. He would take over again after the war, where his main issue would be to help the Pontic Greek refugees.
