Varangism is a Authoritarian Left ideology, that promotes a Distributist, Theocratic Monarch that would redistribute the wealth of the rich to the rest of the Nation. The government would be split between the King's domain and the Church, both following the main tenants of Varangism.

    Political Organization

Varangism is Authoritarian, although still respecting individual rights, like property, gun ownership, and free speech. There would be no voting system for the citizens, as the King would reign until his death and Archbishop of the government would reign until his death or abdication. When the Archbishop passes, the collective Churches of the nation vote in approval or disapproval of the chosen heir to the Archbishopric.

Being a Unitary system, laws would be consistent across all provinces, but some laws made to preserve regional culture would be allowed. The King and Church would halve the power, and have a council, in the council, laws would be presented by lawmakers, and would be either approved or disapproved by the council. Of course all religions would be accepted, but the state religion, Eastern Orthodoxy would be promoted by the state heavily.

    Economic Organization

As mentioned, Varangism is economically left. The government would have almost total control of the economy to prevent massive wealth gain. Government farms would also be somewhat common place, though private businesses would still exist. The state would employ workers based off of merit and intelligence. A UBI would be in place, being $20,000 annually, as well as free college, healthcare, veteran benefits and a wealth cap. However different from most socialist societies, the government benefits would increase as a person's work increased. The more work you put in, the higher your annual UBI becomes, if you work overtime, you get that much off at a later date. This is so people are encouraged to work, instead of freeloading with their UBI and welfare.

    Societal Organization

Individual rights would be promoted, the right to own property, the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, etc. Only speech that directly attacks the government or religion would be punishable. Being a conservative ideology, progressivism would be disapproved of, things like atheism, nihilism, transgenderism and feminism would be punishable. Lawmakers that propose laws overriding culture or tradition would be fired, as cultural preservation would be of upmost importance.

The state, while not controlling the population would encourage and discourage certain actions and viewpoints, while not actively punishing them. Finally, a bit of a quirk of Varangism is the aspect of state mandated guns. In order to protect working citizens, they would be provided guns by the government if they were trusted by or related to a government official.

Culturally, it is almost reactionary, extremely conservative, wanting to return to the Victorian-era culturally and technologically. Believing that modern inventions like internet and most technology have done nothing but spread unreasonable ideas like atheism, liberalism and has strayed humanity from God. Varangism is also an Ultranationalist ideology, putting the people of it's nation before all others.

    Personality and Behaviour

Varangism is relatively introverted, not wanting to interact much, and would rather study and read. Varangism is relatively happy with life, and believes in God's grand plan for him.
