Semarchism is the ideology developed by a person by the username of uoiauai. It is an offshoot of File:Voluntaryism.png Voluntaryism, and advocates for the basic principles of natural rights, free markets, and voluntary involvement in any organization. It believes that such principles will encourage other things that it agrees on, such as voluntary welfare, technological progression, and a good quality of work environments.

    Government

Semarchists believe in a voluntary government. It does not believe that the government should be eliminated or overthrown, which is a disagreement with traditional Anarcho-Capitalism. It believes that the leader of the voluntary government can serve as a "head of state", which is democratically elected. This is similar to File:Anarcho-Monarchism (AthM).pngAnarcho-Monarchism, except for the fact that it's democratized. The voluntary government will be funded by voluntary taxation and donations, where people can choose what to fund, for their self-interests and the interests of others. According to the ideology, this will force the government to make wise economic decisions.

Through these fundings, the government will establish "public" infrastructures and institutions, such as courts, policing, firefighting, roads, healthcare, etc. These services are funded through voluntary payments, so in a sense they are "private". According to Semarchism, this will let citizens have a choice in choosing between services given by private companies, or services given by this voluntary welfare "state".

    Economic System

Semarchism agrees with Panarchism, and thinks that any economic system should exist as long as people are voluntary joining it. For example, in a Panarchist society, both communes and optional markets will form. However, Semarchists tend to personally prefer unregulated Capitalism, and will join a free market if one such society were to exist.

It also believes that a panarchist economy, and an unregulated capitalist market, can provide workplace environments with good quality. It supports the idea of voluntary unions, that could be used to defend employee interests against the head of companies within the markets. It also considers that a free-market economy will make way for union-owned companies, or democratized companies. These ideas are inspired by Syndicalism and Left-Rothbardism respectively.

    Implementation

Semarchism believes it can be achieved through reform, and opposes violent revolutions for an instant establishment of a voluntary government. However, Semarchism believes that reforms should only take place when the country is wealthy, democratic, and small/federal. If not, it believes that the policies listed below should be implemented:

    • If the country is poor: Implement tarriffs that are not high, to encourage local production and the local growth of Capitalism. Opening up trade too much can lead to corporations from other countries exploiting the citizens in that country, which is not good for economic growth and freedom, as demonstrated by many African countries.
    • If the country is large and unitary: Make the country federal, and shrink the federal government as much as possible.
    • If the country is not democratic: Implement reforms to democratize the country, if not, Semarchism believes that revolution can be used in this case.

    Order of implementation

Semarchism advocates for a specific order of policies that can ensure that the ideology can be implemented peacefully and safely.

    1. Switch to a Capitalist Economic System
    2. Switch from autocracy to democracy
    3. Make the foreign policy non-interventionist
    4. Minimize or remove surveillance
    5. End corporate welfare
    6. End drug prohibition
    7. Abolish non-essential government departments (Minarchism)
    8. Eliminate most taxes
    9. Make taxes voluntary
