Joint Polish-Russian military operation

The Polish Social Nationalist Republic is a eastern European state led by Hubert Ziółkowski and his Social Nationalist regime.
It is an authoritarian and traditional state which had made deals with the Germans and Russians for land exchange in the past. It came about when the former pro-american government collapsed due to collapse of the US and the world economy, as well as Russian intervention.
Poland is quite developed with an average of 0.890 HDI, except in the south east where it is 0.770 as after the initial revolution it had faced no land wars, as well as the system of Fiscal Federalism allowing for Urban centers to develop rapidly from trade with industrial centers. Poland despite the lack of a larger threat invested into its military industry heavily, this leads to Poland possesing a large land force as well as a healthy pool of war profiteering. Poland also is in the early stages of robotising its land forces.
In terms of Society Poland is a traditionalist state with rigid social structure and gender norms as well as highly collectivist and nationalistic norms, a lot of social norms are mandated top down from the central government and the constitution. Poland tries to balance futurism with tradition wanting for people to have access to nature but also to a comfortable living and so its cities use traditional architecture and large national parks mixed with skyscrapers and neon lights which ends up being an interesting aesthetic.
Poland has a small number of nuclear misslies which it bought off from the Russians long time ago. Domestically Poland uses nuclear energy and is in the process starting domestic producation of nuclear missilies.
However its situation is a precarious one, and the death of its supreme leader - the Kultokrat - may lead the country into times of instability, not to mention the growing influence of the ZZ paramilitary group. A civil war would sure be messy, but our Kultokrat would never allow such a thing to happen!

Poland is an interventionist power who involves itself in international relations for the purpose of universial nationalism. After the collapse of the United States, Russia and China it has seen itself in a confusing situation considering majority of its objectives to be fullfilled. Poland nowadays focuses on preventing a big war from breaking out as it has obligations to multiple countries which it has made pacts with and doesnt intend for these articles to ever come into play, instead Poland is frequently involved in proxy conflicts against those whom may want to restore any form of the old westernism and funds resistance groups in the hispaniola rival government.

  Polish-Sorbian relations are complicated, they started off very tense with the exile but have evolved to be generally friendly. Poland is one of Sorbias only trade partners as well as the only place where Sorbia issues visas and they also share a mutual defence treaty, This has lead to many to treat Sorbia as some sort of puppet state of Poland despite the situation being much more complex. Whenever any Sorbian-German diplomacy has ever happened it has always went through Poland. Despite these generally positive relations Poland still sees the Wielkopolska province as its core land and is likely to take any chance to pressure the Sorbian government to return it. Poland also has a mutual defence treaty with North Germany, causing for constant incidents where Poland has to force Sorbia to back down for the situation to not escalate to a war.

  Polish-North German relations are generally positive, they share trade relations and dont have official disputes, as well as being in a mutual defence pact as they share mutual anti american sentiment. However many Poles still are nostalgic about Pomerania and there are some ideological disagreements between the two countries.

  Poland views The European Commonwealth as an outdated relic of the old order and doesnt take its existence seriously, it spends efforts in deligimising its existence in the global sphere and doesnt recognise its independence, claiming that the governments of the Republic of Estonia, Republic of Latvia and Republic of Pskov are the legitimate governments of that land. The Baltic sea is quite tense in its eastern regions due to Polish-European rivalry.

  Despite at first being friendly with both northern countries, the Swedish-European alliance has lead to Poland siding more with Finland. Poland has nothing against the government of Sweden and in fact agrees with their policies for the most part but due to the European Commonwealth being involved it has turned into a proxy conflict between the two. Poland has a steady weapon export route into Finland via the long way (Białystok->Minsk->St. Petersburg->Finland) to avoid contact and distrubtion from the EC or Sweden and is pressuring the government of Finland to allow a Polish peacekeeping force in the area. Finland has also Joined the new warsaw pact.

  Poland views the LFA the same way as it sees the European Commonwealth, however due to distance it doesnt take it as seriously as the EC, it denounces it in propaganda and offically the relations are strained/militant but de-facto relations are almost non-existent

  Poland views Illinois as a continuation and evolution of the former United States, the final goal is to have it destroyed and replaced by a ZZ governorate which will move all the American Industry back to Poland as reperations for 30 years of US occupation of Poland. GI is far but Poland is investing in the air force, helicopters and drones due to this exact reason, first falls Port-au-Prince then Springfield. Other than that Poland leads an international propaganda campaign against Illinois and has Embargoed the state as well as putting sanctions on it and officially banning it from accesing the Baltic sea (although this is only de-jure and has no practically way of being enforced de-facto)

  Poland is in an active but frozen conflict with Lithuania, it occupies lands leading up to the Wilno region and a railway, road and metro network leading to Mińsk. The Polish-lithuanian border is heavily mitilarised and Poland has stationed two RS-28 Sarmat's near the border in hidden locations, 400K infantry soldiers and 630 PL-01 Tanks on the border and within occupied territories, as well as fully stocking Białystok, Lublin and Lwów airport with Sukhoi Su-57's, Mi-28's and HESA Shahed 136's. Frequent bombing runs are conducted on military factories, ports and industrial centers of Lithuania as well as frequent skirmishes in the occupied territories. Poland has also embargoed Lithuania and the Polish navy patrols the Lithuanian coast and attacks convoys with shipments. Peace negotiations are considered but Poland wont stand down until a government change to an anti-western or neutral regime is enacted.

  Despite Fundamental disagreements Poland doesnt engage much in actions with or against the Byzantines, this it due to Romania being in the way and Poland is very uncertain about Romania due to its anarchist nature. Poland speaks out against Byzantium only in words, not actions and trade relations although not official, exist. Despite these disagreements Poland is following a policy of detente towards Byzantium via the guidance of Hungary.

  Poland and New Kashubia have relatively positive relations, rather than seeing it as a rival government, Poland sees New Kashubia as a fun colonial project. Frequent Student Exchange programs take place between New Kashubia and Kashubia Krai as well as visa free travel between the two, however this only applies to Kashubia Krai and not the whole of Poland. Poland exports military equipment to new Kashubia and helps fund their military to keep the colonial state alive.

The Republic of Sorbia is a state established on the lines of Tammyist Slavic Nationalism, having been outcast from Poland and seeing an opportunity in the weakening Germany, Tammy went to Sorbia to get the Sorbussy. There Tammy subsequently campaigned for a Sorbian state that shall eventually replace and eradicate the German majority in the area - for a true Slavic Nationalism. As soon as the state established, the true horrors of this new regime became apparent to those Germans that have not yet fled. An agrarian paradise for the Slav, the horrors of suppression for the German; a true democracy this state is not.

Alternative lifestyles are generally acknowledged. Gay marriage is legal, but it is rather tiresome to file, due to large amounts of bureaucracy surrounding the whole process.

The Sorbian Land, River Navy, and Air Forces are no stranger to women in the army, which is a rather uncommon thing to see. The army is made entirely of volunteers, although more soldiers can drawn from it's quite impressive reserve manpower pool if needed. It's quite hard to join all branches, as the active army is expected to fight with grace and be generally polite during peace and war times. All men and women who are 18 year olds or above and without further education must complete 2 month mandatory training. Most of the weapons used by the army are a mix of:

• Self-produced modernized Sorbian copies of old Soviet and Finnish equipment (mostly tanks, planes, firearms, and uniforms);
• Weapons donated or sold by the Polish Social Nationalist Republic;
• Weapons aquired by under the shade deals with other nations.

Sorbia recognizes both Catholic Christianity and Eastern Slavic Rodnovery as it's state religions, both being protected and mandated by it's constitution (The Łużyce Agreement / The August Łużyce Constitution). Both religions somewhat co-exist, but infighting does happens. The Tammyist Government currently consits of mostly Eastern Rodnovers.

The Sorbian system is a strange one. Independent parties do exist, but for them to actually function in accordance with the law, they have to agree with the constitution, which was drafted by members of Slavic Dawn. In short, if you don't like Slavic Dawn, your party is an unparty.

They trade, host each other's embassies, have a rather lax passport policy, and sometimes support each other militarily. Sorbia is rather reliant on Poland, without it the nation would be mostly alone.

  • Greater Illinois - A relation that doesn't go too far back, simply because of how hard it was for Sorbia to establish it. Greater Illinois is a big supporter of Sorbia, providing it with electronic parts/rare materials in exchange for information, wheat, and other foodstuff. Due to having no sea access (also being landlocked between two anti-American nations), the only way to actually get the cargo is through Poland and Germany, which means that there is a lot of shady things happening. From sending unmarked planes over Germany, increasing spy activity, to employing local mafia groups, together they play a dangerous game. A lot of the talks between the two nations happen behind closed doors, often with the use of very shadowy methods. While Sorbia is a big topic in Illinois, Sorbian politicians and media have to stay shut.
  • Norsk-Svensk Anarkistkollektiv - Sorbian-Anarkistkollektivinian relations are rather fresh and they seem mostly positive, for now.

  • Islamic Emirate of Finland - Sorbia-Finland relations are pretty much non-existent. Sorbia still remembers the days of the old Finnish government that they stole borrowed the outdated weapon and uniform plans from, but they don't seem to mind Finland existing in it's current state.

  • Byzantium - "Byzantium? Who's that? Oh, a country? And you're telling me they hate us? Oh, well... What a shame... Anyway, nobody cares, back to work!" - Tamara Vlasov
  • Liberal Federation of America - The current Sorbian government barely cares about the existance of the Liberal Federation of America. Tamara Vlasov hates the current way that their state is run, seeing it as very liberal and lacking in central power. Ever since it started to recognize Byzantium and the European Commonwealth as friendly nations, relations have soured. Talks with the LFA are still in motion though and seem to be stable, for now...
  • Sacred Kingdom of Sweden - Unlike with Finland, Sorbia actually tries to have and maintain contact with Sweden, seening them as a potential trade partner. Sorbia clashes with them mostly on cultural issues, but relations are relations and Sorbian officials are not there to comment on traditions that aren't their's own.
  • Polish Republic of Hispaniola - Ah, yes, the rivals to Kultokrat's government. In Sorbia, they're viewed by the people and the government as a bunch of western liberals and colonizers. While they're not hated, they're not appreciated either. The exiled government is well aware of the fact that Sorbia is not here to replace Poland, but Polish values will be upheld in places with a Polish majority, while still promoting Pan-Slavism. Tamara Vlasov still rages on the phone occasionally about how Sorbian socialism isn't "regressive" to Hispaniola's officials, which has turned into a bit of a meme.

  • North German People's State - Sorbia and Germany are NOT friendly with each other. The Sorbian government constantly awaits any kind of provocation from the other side and is absolutely not afraid to strike, as evident by old border skirmishes, which Poland always had to put an end to. Sorbia treats Germany as an insult to the Slavic people and the world. The border is absolutely riddled with soldiers, bunkers, extremely high chainlink fences, and barbed wire. Any ethnic German trying to cross the border will be sent back, no matter for how long they're staying.

The North German People's State is a federal and agrarian state in the heart of Europe; strongly isolationist, environmentalist, and nationalist in nature; this state seeked the return to a simpler way of living and a sense of communal belonging. The road to this state was difficult however - the region undergoing extreme hardships during the times of deindustrialization, depopulation, and remigration; riots and instability were the norm for many years. Having finally established the Agrarian and local national-state originally envisioned however, the ruling regime has to find anymore a justification to stay in power as it seems it has clearly overstayed its welcome.

Parliament

The Parliament of the North German People's State is a primarily unicarmal house under a semi-direct democratic representative multi-party system. The parliament is elected every 5 years by every citizen over the age of 16.

The results of the most recent election, which was held on the 20th April, is showcased in the Infobox on the sidebar.

The three biggest parties within the state are the leading LNPD, the VAV, and the Querfront. Thus far, no party other than the LNPD could reach a percentage of votes high enough to lead a coalition.
Besides these three main parties, there are many minor parties within the state.
These minor parties are also able to play important roles in politics, as the huge parliament of North Germany lacks an electoral threshold. This means that a party is only required to win 0.1% of the vote to gain a seat in national parliament.

The current government has been formed between the LNPD and VAV, which alone formed the previous government, as well as the minor BdN from Holstein, and the very small HNP.
Some have criticized the new government for involving the regionalist BdN and the controversially radical HNP.

North Germany is a primarily Isolationist state, pursuing a policy of relative neutrality and non-involvement. It still has relations to other states however, primarily those surrounding it and the concept of the former USA, which it despises.

  Especially after the transfer of Pomerania, the Polish and North German governments have had pretty much only friendly relations. Their shared anti-Americanism and opposition to the European movement only help in bringing them closer together. Despite their great relations on the international stage however, ideological differences do sometimes strain the relations between the two states; so has North Germany oftentimes strongly condemned Poland's treatment of LGBT people, especially Femboys, and the Ukrainians; while some factions in Poland call for the return of Pomerania or a closer relationship with North Germany's wannabe-enemy Sorbia.

  North Germany views many parts of the Swedish regime and society positively, although it has harsh critiques of Sweden's anti-LGBT stance, monarchy, and christian focus. However generally, North Germany remains in great admiration for many aspects of contemporary Swedish society and could imagine a partnership with Sweden in the future. North Germany currently funds and supports the National People's Party, which it views as a force within the Swedish state that could bring further liberation, while still condemning more progressive and moderate elements of the party.

Beryist Reich

The Federal Republic of Germany, often colloquially or humorously referred to as the Beryist Reich, is a federal republic situated in the former territories of the former German states of North-Rhine Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Hesse, as well as parts of Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony. Due to its liberal-democratic nature and the fact that its government is largely made up of former German politicans, it is often seen as the spiritual successor to the former German state.

In spite of its misleading common name, it bears little resemblance to any brand of fascism in its actual policy. It is one of the most socially progressive nations in Europe, having legalised same-sex marriage, recreational drug use (under varying tax rates), prostitution (under government monitoring), LGBTQ+ adoption rights and near total freedom of speech almost immediately after gaining full independence and regaining a satisfactory degree of economic stability and self-orientation.

Its economy is a mixed-market economy based on the principles of the post-WW2 economic miracle's architects. Citizens enjoy free access to healthcare and tertiary education; cartels in the private sector are strictly monitored and regulated. The social security system is held simple and unbureaucratic after the previous one had merely widened wealth gaps and done very little to truly help people climb out of poverty, instead only creating a culture of reliance on the state. Citizens pay a progressive income tax rate; corporations pay a tax rate which is high enough to finance the aforementioned social programs yet simultaneously low enough to not disincentivise foreign investment or have local companies move their assets to neighbouring states. With the eastern states no longer existing, the solidarity surcharge tax is eliminated in its entirety.

Hungary

Hungary, officially the National Republic of Hungary is a country located in Eastern-Central Europe. It is a unitary presidential republic, with a very strong national identity. The current ideology of the country is Ethnic Welfarism , which is a liberal democratic branch of Social Nationalism. Although being criticized as a one-party dominant system, elections are completely free in Hungary, and the current government upholds the values of Liberalism, as a result there's complete Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press, Freedom of Religion, and it also does great effort to respect and uphold the basic human rights, including the right to housing and the right to equality, with restrictions and alleged violations of the Freedom of movement.
Hungary has a very strict immigration law, while ethnic Hungarians can freely enter the country and get citizenship, only in very specific cases can a foreigner get citizenship. People can freely leave the country permanently. Hungary's economy can be described as a Welfare Capitalist economy with a lot of regulations, intended to help the people, and limit inequality.
Hungary is in a very unique diplomatic position, because of the democratic, nationalistic, and socialistic elements of the country. As a globalist country in principle, the country is very open to diplomatic relations, trying to be a negotiator between ideologically vastly different countries. However, one of the main principles of the country's ideology is Ethnopluralism, and Hungary's main goal on the global stage is to unite all Hungarians in the same state. After regaining South-Neusiedl, Vojvodina and the Baranya-triangle, Hungary still has claims in Istria (Medimurje and Prekmurje), Czechoslovakia (Southern Slovakia), and the Dacian Confederation (Northern Transylvania, Southwest Transcarpathia, Arad).

With the Collapse of the Major Powers which controlled the People of the European nations, it was only logical that groups which were suppressed until that point were only going to get stronger, leading to the threat of the liberal order that felt its presence by the lies it spit. Among those groups, there was one which used tactics that span from the far left to the far right, getting many supporters from different camps, The National Anarchists. Being lead by SwordComrade, the movement quickly became infamous for the brutal tactics that became their norm. From violent riots in important areas to assassinations, The National Anarchists crippled any hopes of the liberals for a successful counter to the instability. Months passed, and with them, the government became more and more corrupt, nobody agreed with anyone in the organs that maintained order, ending with mass defections by the army, joining the impending collapse that will set the stage for new forces.

The New Order was set, only time will tell if it would hold together like it was promised during the violent struggle.

There is an increasing trend happening in the free territory
As the name of the country and main faction imply, there has been a push for the revival of the Dacian identity, and with it comes the Zalmoxian religion and traditions. Sword Comrade knew that the nation cannot continue being held by the lies of the elites and their association of this land with the degenerate Roman occupation. And, as a solution to those problems, there has been a heavy influence of the Dacian Pagans present among the other communes. The final goal of the Dacian Tribes is the complete destruction of the Flag, Language and Identity that plagued the people of this land for so long, along with the revival of the Barbarian Wolf Spirit which held off the Romans a long time ago.

The Gypsy Question
It is no secret that one of the largest minority inhabiting the liberated territory are the gypsies, and despite the constant conflicts that have arisen between them and other groups, the issue of tribes needs to be solved once and for all. By meeting with various Roma groups spanned across all the land, Sword Comrade ( along with the vote of the other communes ) agreed to give a portion of Banat for the creation of homogeneous Roma communes. Theoretically, those said communities are still part of the Confederation, but there is a great disdain coming from the Dacian tribes of any Roma person who tries to associate with the northern communes. This resulted in strong segregation on both sides, where the only thing keeping those areas in high coordination is their shared need for survival. There has been some bickering coming from two factions regarding the outcome of this decision, but the complaints are caused by completely different points. The LGBT Liberation Communes criticized the closed borders stance that the National Anarchists advocated for, striving for more open relations between different communes, while The Green Alliance sees the seceding of the Banat Portion to the gypsies as a sign of "weakness", and they have tried anything in their power to cause an all out war between completely opposed communes.

The Need for An Alliance
With the constant harassments happening on the north and south by two different forces, the desire for greater cooperation has arisen. Within the first days of the establishment of the Dacian Confederation, delegates were sent to the territory of Istria to discuss a long term plan for our new Anarchist goals. The terms are simple, any aggression happening on one side of any of the two communities, the other one will join the war to defend both itself and the afflicted territory. The Mediterranean Liberation Association quickly accepted this deal, having a shared need for protection against invaders, forming what is today known as "The Liberated Territories of Europe". The greatest problem that this coordination faces is the lack of a shared land connection between the two Anarchist Nations, however propositions of a joint attack on [REDACTED] have been met with positive answers from both members.

Here, in the Southern area of the Italian Peninsula, we can find the New Italian Republic, a nation born from the ashes of the older Italian Republic. The institutions aren't too different, maintaining a Liberal Democratic system, but the political scenes and the parties completely changed. The dominant, and currently ruling political party is the "New Foundation", a Radical Centrist Party that takes positions from both the traditional Left ( Socially liberal policies, Egalitarianism, a strong Welfare state...) and the traditional Right ( Nationalism, Militarism with obligatory military service, protection of cultural traditions...). Regarding foreign policy, the New Italian Republic seeks alliances with other Liberal Democracies (or at least, countries that want to uphold Liberalism in major ways) all around the world. For now, "New Foundation" remains very popular in the country, with merits such as getting rid of the Mafia gangs in Southern Italy, countering Terrorist militias present in the region, lowering unemployment under 4% and an ongoing industralization project in the less developed areas of the Nation. But who knows what the future awaits for the Italians...

Byzantium was first established as a project that sought to continue the values of liberty and progress across the European continent, seeing the rise of nations like the Polish Social Nationalist Republic and the Dacian Confederation as dangerous. As such, relations with these nearby nations are not that good overall. It is founded upon the values of Neoliberalism, which means they support the following ideas: technological development, evidence-based policy, equal opportunity, economic growth, respect for diversity environmental protection.

Through these ideas, the nation is known as being one of the most Pro-LGBTQ+ countries out there, with couples having right to marriage and civil partnerships, among many other things. Overall, the country is progressive on many issues. The country also has dedicated massive investments into science & technology, through this, they have managed to build up a solid intellectual base that has allowed for the development of new technologies, with Byzantium's HDI being at 0.99. Also through this, Byzantium was able to become 100% Clean energy powered, neatly balancing Solar power (in Crete and other Aegean Islands) along with Wind Power (in the mountainous areas/windy areas), Hydroelectric power (among rivers) and Nuclear Power (in Bulgaria, where there are less earthquakes).

Byzantium is also one of the most free countries in the world, with there being a high degree of democracy (with referendums existing along regular Parliamentary elections). Free speech is also existent in the country as well, with victimless crimes not being considered crimes (in most cases) There is also a high degree of gun rights in the country. Byzantium also upholds media freedom, with there being one main public broadcasting company that acts independently and in accordance to the Fairness Doctrine and there also being many private media companies that also uphold it as well, as such, the media landscape is overall pretty centrist (with some exceptions). Prisons are also nationalized, with there being a policy of rehabilitative justice. Soft drugs (like marijuana) are legal and decriminalized, while hard drugs are legal in small doses (and decriminalized). This means that Byzantium has one of the most lenient drug policies in the world, with rehabilitation, regulation and taxation on drugs being used over criminalization.

Byzantium also upholds principles of multilingualism, with the official languages being Vlach, Greek, Romanian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Turkish (6 official languages), with Byzantium being seen as a rainbow nation. In recent years, it has begun scaling up the education of Vlach, seeing it as a synthesis between Greek and Latin. As such, the percentage of Vlach people has increased from less than 10% (L1 and L2 speakers) to 40% (L1 and L2 speakers). There is also a policy of open borders, with there being high rates of immigration, tolerating diversity in the country. As such, there is a decent percentage of African and Asian People (Similar to real life Canada).

Byzantium is also known for the most lenient zoning laws in the world, as such, there is almost no restriction to housing construction, allowing for the construction of housing not just in the coastal areas but also in the mountains. Sustainable agriculture in the form of vertical farming has allowed for the creation of population centers and economic centers within the mountains, ending the coastal monopoly that had existed in Byzantium for many centuries. This means that immigration is not so overwhelming to the Byzantine government as they can just house them in the mountains. There is also a land value tax put in place, being a main generator of revenue for the Byzantine government.

Militarily speaking, the nation has a large military, in order to prevent it from being attacked by its neighbors (especially the Dacian Confederation to the north). As such, there is a military budget of 2% of the nation's GDP, with there being 200,000 active duty soldiers (which are technologically advanced). With the nation being inspired by the project which created the Second Spanish Republic, seeking to not repeat its mistakes.

• Byzantine Parliament passes the HITECH Act, a 400B$ investment act that will mostly subsidize private companies to build up a technological base through the mechanisms of the free market. 200B$ would go towards infrastructure (railways, roads, ports, public transit and bridges) in order to improve trade and infrastructure quality. 70B$ would go towards improving military hardware and capabilities, along with the establishment of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Service (DARPS). 50B$ would go towards STEM education in order to build up an even stronger academic and intellectual base. 30B$ would go towards the Byzantine Space Agency (BSA) and also private space companies (like CosmosX). Another 30B$ will go towards improving automation technologies, artificial intelligence and building more semiconductor manufacturing. 10B$ would go towards improving energy generation so that Byzantium can achieve energy independence and 10B$ would go towards improving internet and broadband speeds.
• Byzantine Parliament passes the Budget Reconciliation Act of 20XX, with there being increased funding for research & development, the military and infrastructure. Welfare programs like Public healthcare, public education have been increased. The Negative Income Tax has also been expanded, however the minimum wage was abolished, instead, the only way workers could have high pay is through unionization and bargaining. Other extra things implemented under this bill was a militarization of the border with Romania (due to increased illegal activities there because of its anarchist nature), the establishment of a Federal Anti-Corruption Service and the Land Value Tax was also increased from 20%-40% to 60%-80%.
• Byzantine Parliament passes the Byzantine Security & Protection Act, with the goal of taking a harder hand towards terrorist/criminal groups like the Godfathers of the Night, Red Turks and the Revival Group, which have increased their terrorist activities in the last months. As such, the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) has been established to protect the Byzantine people and uphold the Byzantine constitution. It will be responsible for tackling domestic terrorism. It also accepts Greater Illinoisan protection against the threat of Dacia and Poland (albeit with a referendum after the bill passes). Investments in the police force are also increased (part of the Budget Reconciliation Act of 20XX). Extra: Illinoisan Protection referendum passes 51.68% to 48.32%.
• Members of the Peoples Party elect Stefanos Kontotzis as their new leader, with him being a Neoconservative, supporting stronger relations with Greater Illinois seeing them as an important geopolitical ally against the backward states of Poland and Dacia. He calls for a scaling up of military spending (up to over 3% of GDP, up from 2.4% of GDP) and higher research and development spending. He also believes that the police force and intelligent services need to be strengthened to combat terrorist and ultranationalist groups and also that Communist groups need to banned like the Left Party's leftist faction, wanting Byzantium to join the First Anti-Communist Internationale.

He also supports fiscally conservative policies, like cutting welfare and making it temporary. He believes this will end the economic overheating that will result from his heavy spending on R&D, Intelligence, Police and Military. He also supports increasing foreign direct investment by privatizing all nationalized businesses (except for water, telecom and rail), seeking to privatize the energy sector and natural resource extraction sector. Whether this would mean the People's Party will topple the Prosperity Party and become the ruling party remains to be found out, however it seems like they will, seeing current geopolitical situations and domestic situation. If he can present the People's Party as a true law and order party compared to the "soft" Prosperity Party, maybe they will have a chance.

• Byzantine Parliament passes the Invest in Byzantium Act, a 6T$ bill over the span of 10 years (so 600B$/year) that is meant to invest in Byzantium and to improve it on the world stage. 230B$/year would go towards science & technology, this is funding that goes to technological advancements in STEM fields. 150B$/year would go towards healthcare research and development, in order to reduce infant mortality, increase life expectancy and cure diseases. 100B$/year would be dedicated towards improving military hardware, along with signing military contracts with Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies for Illinoisan tech. 50B$/year would be dedicated towards improving public transportation and infrastructure. 25B$/year would be dedicated towards the Byzantine Space Agency and private space exploration companies, mostly to construct a fleet of space tethers and nuclear powered rockets. 25B$/year would also be dedicated towards technologies like nuclear fusion and another 15B$/year would be given to universities, academies but also towards K-12 education along with free school lunches. Finally, the other 5B$/year would be given to desalination technologies, deep sea mining (especially in the Mediterranean, but with some biodiversity protections) and other technologies.

• The HITECH Act proves to be successful, as the science & technology funding reaches 10% of GDP (x2 more than it was before), technologies are being created at a faster rate thanks to the mechanisms of capitalism.
• Byzantine Prime Minister Owfithus has said that capitalism is the superior economic system, believing that socialism as a system has always led to stagnation in a recent (X site) post.
• MD-2 Slayer Drones have begun to be in circulation with a hundred drones already being built. As of now, their main goal is to accurately track and kill leaders of terrorist groups (such as Godfathers Of The Night). The current Budget Reconciliation Bill puts the military's budget at 2.5% of GDP, an increase from 2.2% of GDP from the previous budget.
• The number of tourists reached a record high in 20XX, with there being 70.3 million people who have visited Byzantium, with the main places of visit being the Aegean islands, coastal beaches, Byzantine mountains and historical sites. This is around 10 million more people than the actual population of Byzantium itself and it shows how tourism plays a big part of Byzantium's economy.
• Political analysts in Byzantium are wondering why Byzantium has been warming up to Greater Illinois despite knowledge that it is far from democratic. The true answer is pragmatism, according to the Byzantine Government.
• We are the real successor to the Rome, (says Vissarion Owfithus after the emergence of the New Roman Empire in Northern Italy) we after all have Constantinople. It has been the capital of the Roman Empire from 330 AD - 1453, and it is now again! We will even bring back the Emperor if the people really want to!
• The Federal Intelligence Service announces that the leader of the terrorist group Godfathers Of The Night - Rica Pavlenco has been officially killed due to a drone strike from a MD-2 Slayer drone, the first ever drone strike from the model. After some days of tracking him by the FIS, the very accurate technology of the MD-2 Slayer Drone has finally been put to use as his location was confirmed. The damages caused by the drone strike only included the blowing up of his bathroom, where Pavlenco was at the time, however there was some damage to other places. Luckily, no one got else injured/died. This shows the accuracy of the MD-2 Slayer and the next step in drone warfare.
• The Director of the Federal Intelligence Service, Kyriakos Mitsotakis Jr. has announced a new list of banned groups that have fallen under one ofthe 3 criteria: Are committing treason against the state, Are engaging in criminal and/or terrorist activity and are an ethnically/ideologically supremacist group at their core. New groups, which have started to shake up public stability are as follows:
  • Sons of Marx, a terrorist group which is inciting violence against the upper classes in the name of Marxism-Leninism. They have gained notoriety after they have assassinated the CEO of Helleniq Energy Yianni Sarkides.

• • Spiritual Rebirth, a group which claims to follow esoteric views and wishes to see nuclear armageddon across the world because the Jews have corrupted it. They also promote homophobic views and oppose any other religion except for Esoteric paganism. They have been banned because of criteria I and III.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis Jr. has suggested that police forces be very alert, as they could be having more activity after this announcement. He has also urged Owfithus to make Byzantium join the First Anti-Communist Internationale, in order to stop further communist terrorist attacks within Byzantine soil.

• After some thought, the Byzantine Prime Minister announces that Byzantium will join the First Anti-Communist Internationale, seeing the threat of terrorist Marxism as serious.
• SCIENCE NEWS: After co-operation with Greater Illinois and Thailand, it is announced that the world's first practical fusion reactor has been brought online, with it having a Q = 30, enough for true fusion energy generation. In other news, room temperature superconductors have also been created, with them reaching temperatures of around 22 degrees Celsius and a pressure of around 1/10 of a gigapascal, or around 100 million pascals, or 980x regular atmospheric pressure, while not ideal atmospheric pressure, it is practical enough for it to be distributed and improve the energy grid, computers, AI and battery duration.
• Byzantium becomes one of the few countries to have an human development index (HDI) exceeding 1, after updates were made years ago to expand the HDI from a maximum of 1 to 2, after Greater Illinois became so technologically developed.
• Military budgets for the first time ever exceed 3% of GDP, more specifically, they're at 4.4% of GDP after funding from the HITECH and Invest in Byzantium Acts. This means that the military has a budget of 280B$/year, a increase from the previous 150B$/year that was recorded in previous budgets.

The Norsk-Svensk Anarkistkollektiv is a revolutionary society established in the aftermath of the fall of most major countries. It was established following the January Revolution and wider Norwegian Revolution led by the Borkerist Revolutionary Front, a political organization dedicated to the implementation of Borker Thought. The rise of the Norsk-Svensk Anarkistkollektiv was marked by a long and violent conflict with both the Norwegian and Swedish governments. Many lost their lives in the struggle, including the Norwegian royal family who were killed in an event similar to the killings of the Romanovs. In recognition of his role as a key leader in the establishment of the community, Iefan Alstūd was appointed as a ceremonial leader of the Norsk-Svensk Anarkistkollektiv.

In this role, Alstūd serves as a representative of the community to the outside world and performs ceremonial duties on behalf of the community. He is also recognized as a respected voice within the community and is often consulted on important decisions or matters of community interest, although Alstūd's role is primarily symbolic and does not involve any decision-making or governing power over the community.

Sweden

In the cold forests of northern Scandinavia a new nation has risen up - The Sacred Kingdom of Sweden. Claiming to be the true successor to the once unified Swedish kingdom, it seeks to relive the glory days of the long lost empire.
The state is led by a highly traditionalist government which combines a strong socialist state with reactionary social values and christian fundamentalism. People have accused the regime of being an oppressive, absolutist state masquerading as a benevolent monarchy and totally breaking with the Swedish tradition of liberal tolerance. However, its defenders still see it as a morally just force which will save the nation from the degeneracy of modernity.
Whether the new state will take the road to glory or collapse into corruption will be seen in just a matter of time.

After the Beryist Reich seized power, the North seceded, the East was overrun. But a certain number of German oppositionists, self-proclaimed intellectuals, adventurers and radicals and colonists sailed to Estonia and took advantage of a power vacuum that formed there with the help of parts of the local population. They managed to build up a strong navy to take over Courland, Riga, Livland, Gotland and the Åland islands from there. This allowed the newly formed European Commonwealth to establish itself as a dominant naval power in the Baltic Sea. There are differing views on this new state, some consider it a bastion of Liberal Democracy in Northern Europe, some consider it to be a laughable relic of the old times, a puppet of Illinois or even a Terrorist organisation. The future is uncertain...

It may seem like a war could break out at every moment, but the Polish state stands as a buffer between the two states. Recently there have been rumours that the European Commonwealth has provided members of the Bloc of Germans and those deprived of their Rights in Sorbia with training, weapons, ammunition and propaganda, due to the leader's obsession with "liberating the Germans in Sorbia" the political elites of the Republic of Sorbia are recognized as a Terrorist organistation and Foreign Agents of Poland (FAP) and the propaganda of the Commonwealth constantly compares Sorbia to Nazi Germany and """Democratic""" Kamphuchea.

There was great shock when their state was established and due to their Technological advancement, Extensive industry and Neo-Colonial ambitions they are viewed as the biggest long-term threat to the Commonwealth. However, the leader and the gouvernment were both suprised when Illinois voiced their critical support for the Commonwealth during the European-Polish diplomatic crisis. In that regard relations have been slightly improved, however due to close relations between Illinois the Beryist Reich, the Islamic Emirate of Finland and their critical support to Sorbia, as well as a a reapproachment between the Commonwealth and Northern Germany relations have gone down again.

The Commonwealth sees the Eastern Romans as an ally in the Balkan region. However there is a dislike towards the hostility towards Sweden and the Republicanism of Eastern Rome.   European-Soviet relations are somewhat tense, but not too much. There has been relatively little contact between the two gouvernment although they cooperate on containing the "Pskovian Government in Exile" after the European Commonwealth convinced the Soviets that they claim Soviet land in the Pskov Oblast. Domestically the Commonwealth uses a much sharper rhetoric, to discourage people from supporting the self-proclaimed governments in exile of Estonia and Latvia, which are supported by Poland, a major Soviet ally. Also the alliance between Poland, Norway and the Soviet Union is viewed with big distrust. It remains to be seen if history repeats itself...

  European-Indonesian relations are mixed. When reports of the war crimes comitted by the Indonesian government came out the public was horrified but due to the distant location of Indonesia there is little that can be done. However, some members of the government have spoken out in favour of a defensive alliance against the Neo-Soviet Union due to the strong Anti-Communist stance of Indonesia. This was however rejected by a Parliamentary majority in both Houses. Recently a succesfull deal took place between the two states called "food for arms" in which the EC sold Indonesia specially manufactured burgers in exchange for 5 nuclear devices. Further deals in that manner have taken place in regards to the establishment of an Indonesian military base near Narva (to have protection in case of an attack of the New Warsaw pact) and development of the European Army.

The Cyptriot State is a totalitarian fascist one, located not too far off the coasts of its greatest enemies. The state sees itself distinct from any labels applied to its peoples in the past - instead creating a unified Identity. This, of course, is to the great dismay of the Turks, who seek to reclaim what they think lost. A strong and united Cyprus has been forged, but can it hold up against both internal and external opposition?

Lebanon

The Republic of Lebanon has went through a lot of pain. The millennial nation's plight brought down the young state that was plundering it. After the failure of the pacifist October 17 Revolution at bringing down the corrupt government, a new insurrectionary column was formed amongst the ranks of the poor and starving. With the Army unwilling to sacrifice their lives for the government that caused them so much pain, only the militias, most notable of which was the Iranian proxy of the Hezbollah remained. A gruelling civil war ensued, where one man would raise to prominence. Whiztale. Exploiting the fractured nature of the enemy forces, the Lebanese People's Front managed to pit Hezbollah against the other militias. With their enemies weakened, and their numbers ever increasing with both volunteers from the oppressed civilian population and defectors from the other faction, the LPF finally managed to put an end to the Second Lebanese Civil War. All of the former corrupt politicians that were unlucky enough to remain in the country were captured and publicly executed alongside the leaders of the remaining collaborationists from the long over Israeli and Syrian occupations. After the extradition of Baathist or otherwise subversive non-Lebanese done, the new state, under Whiztale's guiding hand quickly managed to recover. Tapping the great hydroelectric potential of the country, as well as its natural advantages in tourism and banking (and a lot of International aid), the Republic of Lebanon quickly rebuilt, leaving only the political situation to be solved. But while Whiztale is a democrat at heart, and he hopes that he will manage to reform the country into the true bastion of Democracy in the Middle East, he cannot overlook the grave situation the small nation finds itself in. Surrounded by expansionist enemies on all sides, and wishing to liberate his beloved Romania from the murderous chaos that grips it, he made the difficult choice of keeping the constitution "under revision" until the situation stabilises and there is no need for his authoritarian rule any more. The parliament, and elections, remain active however, but they have no real political power. At least, they will learn how to vote...

To make a war

"...And so, it is with a heavy heart, that I announce, in the name of National Security, a military operation to pacify the Northern and Southern borders. May you and Lebanon live long!". Whiztale's televised address from the parliament was met with the vocal protest of the RRPP.

The Progressives were outraged by his announcement. He understood why. The situation was a mess. In the south, Jews and Palestinians were killing each other, and crossing the border for raids and smuggling.

In the North, the Latakyans were in a similarly bad situation. Sunnis and Alawites were killing each other, and the sectarianism was causing trouble in Tripoli's own multi-religious society. Even more importantly...the refugees. Two million Syrians and Palestinians were in Lebanon, living in conditions akin to those of concentration camps, massed together in hermetic, and unruly communities. Should the Lebanese state be able to take over these regions, they should be able to resettle them in the conquered territories, and by extent, buy their loyalty. But the Progressives wanted none of it. War causes death, both civilian and military, and death, they argued is bad. Whiztale sighed, did they not see this was the only way? More importantly, a success in the operation would spread the idea of Homecoming in Romania, which was...unpopular, to say the least. And so, while the Progressives cried and whined, the troops crossed the borders of Lebanon, into the chaotic wastes.

Private Dawoud had joined the Internal Security Forces just a year ago. Hailing from the mountains, he had shown great physical aptitudes, and had quickly been assigned to the Special Troops, the Black Panthers. While a part of the ISF rather than the Army, since there was no declaration of war (or anyone to declare war against really), the fast Mobile Forces were deployed for "counter-terrorism". Dawoud soon reached the Kibbutz he had been assigned to clear with his unit. His NCO, Ali, muttered a short prayer for them all before ordering the driver of the military transport to get them closer. At around a kilometre in distance, they left their ride and continued on foot.

This would be Dawoud's first real military action, and he wondered if he would really have to kill someone...He shook his head and gritted his teeth. If he were to take lives, it would be for the Fatherland...And he would do it gladly. The unit reached the premises of the Kibbutz, quickly and alongside all of the other ISF units, they made their way to their assigned houses, but they clearly weren't the first here.

Old vehicles, motorcycles from the last century, as well as old deprecated Mercedes cars littered the sides, and they could hear Levantine Arabic being spoken from one of the houses nearby...with a strong Palestinian accent... As they went into formation, surrounding the house and preparing to clear, Dawoud started understanding some of the words. The Palestinians were laughing, celebrating their victory over the "Jewish pigs", and hurling slurs at what he assumed were prisoners.

Suddenly, he heard desperate yells coming from the other side, he could understand a few words by proxy, but not much more...Hebrew he assumed. He looked at their interpret who whispered a few words to their commander, before his NCO could give him any orders however, a series of gunshots were heard from inside, with hysterical feminine cries and sobs following soon. The Palestinians laughed and seemed to be violently handling the remaining prisoners, with words that suggested the worst would ensue. His officer's face was stern as he gave the order to raid the house.

The attack was a success, before long, the Palestinian militiamen were all lined up on a wall, some of them already had their trousers down from their previous attempts on the women. Dawoud was glad they could stop this. He turned around to look at the interpreter trying to reassure the civilians, to no avail. The dead bodies of the men, older women and boys were on the ground, with the remaining civilians shedding tears of grief over them. They had all clearly been executed.

He looked at their faces...What if he were born on the wrong side of the border? What if it was his grandmother, his father, his little brother lying dead now? He remembered his History lessons, the Israelis had caused a lot of suffering, both to his people and to the Palestinians...but did they really deserve this? Dawoud couldn't contain his anger any longer. He grabbed one of the Palestinians and threw him on the table, putting his rifle at his head. He forced him to beg for his life, telling him to do what these poor souls had done. Ali tried to stop him, but then, in full view of the victims and his unit, and despite the pleas of his victim, he executed him, just like he and his friends had done to the Jews a few minutes prior.

Ali sighed. He looked at Dawoud and shook his head, then asked for a vote. With the response being unanimous, he ordered the interpret to tell the victims to not say a word of what happened in the house after their liberation, then assembled a firing squad, and finished off the rest of the Palestinians. Overall, Dawoud thought, the operation was a success.

Korea

Stretching from Pyongyang to Jeju-do, the peninsula stands finally united under the People’s Republic of Korea. Shortly after the American collapse and the second Korean War breaking out, a new front gained in popularity and took over both the DPRK and the ROK claiming to be “the third position to two sides of the same coin.” In short, the chaebols of the South and the Kim dynasty were both executed. The new government is rather hostile to outsiders of all kind, to the point where critics accuse it of being chauvinistic and quasi-fascist. Daily life in Korea is likely community-centered and based off of Confucianism, and the techno-capitalist aesthetics have been torn down and repurposed into a revival of Chinese architecture. It is also likely that Korea has a sizeable military and has its own cyberspace, though its full extent is unknown due to its isolationist nature. The young nation currently faces the dilemma of geopolitics, and is keeping a close eye on its neighbor Nerestumorya. Whether this new Korea will stand the test of time or fade away under its own system is a question yet to be answered.

Greenland

The icy wilderness of Greenland, long nearly unsettled, has attracted the attention of a religious community from Europe: The Church of the Great Old Ones. They are a relatively young religion, founded on H. P.Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. Official Church doctrine sais that while Lovecraft himself might have thought he had written fiction, he was dictated his texts by the Great Old Ones in his dreams. The believers preach to the Great Old Ones two times a day, take hard psychedelic drugs to connect themselves to their gods, manufacture chemical and biological weapons, and farm the lands of southern Greenland. The indigenous groups of Greenland are protected and respected by the church, but all other nationalities or religious groups are openly antagonized by it.

The Theocratic State of Western Greenland is politically Center-Authoritarian, internationalist, Environmentalist, anti-technological progress, but mostly pro-cultural progress. They have generally moved on from Lovecraft's racist beliefs, as they believe they don't follow from the belief in humanity as a random error in the process of nature. Greater Illinois is a totalitarian, semi-federalist state formed when a clique of industrialists, military leaders and academics supplanted the incumbent leadership of the states of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin during the American collapse, turning the national guard against them soon after. Gradually, after years of social engineering, researching and developing industrial capacities, the state has become a perfect technocratic managerial state, with the individual being free to live their own lives, but having little to no power outside of the realm of the free market, while experts and executives work behind the scenes. Despite massive corporate paternalism and overbearing authority, the state is still one of the very few in existence that has a HDI of over 1.0.

Due to the anti-traditionalist, secular and anti-identity politics stances taken by the new regime, Greater Illinois embodies the eternal march forward. Given that a large portion of the American industrial elite fled to this state, they dragged their resources with them, making Greater Illinois extremely rich in both material and capital in exchange for corporations being granted a large say in how the state is governed. As the years passed, it has developed many revolutionary technologies such as [more] mobile nuclear reactors, solid anti-nuke defenses, practical laser technologies and multiple new metallic alloys for various different purposes. The economy is ~70% automated, which grants Greater Illinois a massive economic advantage over their neighbors as well.

On the national and world stages, Greater Illinois uses their unique access to American spy satellites in orbit to serve as a sort of "little brother" figure; seeing everything, but sitting on the sidelines and planning their moves in advance instead of actively exerting influence (for they have much more local problems to deal with, first). He views the North German/Polish clique as a direct threat to the existence of a unified America and potential future American hegemony and as such, they actively fund and supply the Neo-Banderaists and the Anti-Democratic Party of the North with arms (and even Geneva-breakers like chemical and biological weapons once access to the ports are re-gained). They don't seem to mind the Sorbian state and even trades food with them sometimes. However, given their current lack of access to ports of their own, they can only give their allies abroad so much. To compensate for this, they have begun to dabble in the trade of technology and information, spurring the technological development of the Eurosphere and elsewhere, but at what cost to them?

However, not all is well. The leadership of Greater Illinois plays a dangerous game on all fronts, balancing the wellness of the populace, the economy, the state, foreign contacts and the military, all at once. One major screwup could spell collapse. Even worse is the growing sect of disenfranchised traditionalists and evangelicals who are beginning to actively resist the will of the state. Of course, the army could crush them like insects, but doing so would violate the whole "America NUMBAR ONE" mentality that Greater Illinois was built upon. Finally, Greater Illinois has very little ability to import goods from the outside world, with the only feasible trade partner at the moment being ████████ in Quebec. For this reason, he is supplying and facilitating the destruction of communist holdouts with ████████ in Canada in order to gain access to some ports and to help ████████ achieve greater control over Quebec. Drastic action must be taken or concessions must be made, but who is to say that the state will survive?

Perhaps even more disturbing are their long-term plans and general lack of anything resembling traditional morality. Despite having allies in some sections of the world, Greater Illinois has hardened into a highly-indoctrinated state of American chauvinists and Ultra-Atlanticists who generally view those outside of their sphere of influence as completely expendable. Despite being landlocked and surrounded by hostile states, they are more than capable of using friendly Quebecois airspace in order to execute export-based trading. There are even a few rumors that some dormant CIA blacksites have been brought back online in the Beryist Reich, as well as close Thai cooperation with Greater Illinosian officials. This tendency has made them many, many enemies around the globe, from lowly anarchist crackpots to former superpowers. Greater Illinois has the potential to beat them all handily...but for now, it's the ultimate balancing act.
However, as of late, the foreign policy has been under moderate reform ever since Greater Illinois almost started a war over nothing but a perceived threat. Perhaps thinking of outsiders and "completely expendable" isn't really a good idea. They're still American Ultranationalists who seek a revival of the old days of total American hegemony, but they're not as diplomatically suicidal as they once were in terms of actually putting that sentiment into practice.

For the sake of preventing needless over-complication, the old functions of the Senate and the House of Representatives are retained in order to not overstrain older bureaucratic systems. However, they are now essentially just an extension of a greater technocratic system, with senators and representatives appointed directly by the state and/or elected in "totalitarian" elections (with the state selecting candidates for the population in order to simulate the illusion of control). As such, the only "legal" party (and literally the ONLY party) is the AFP.

Despite the unified nature of being under a single party, various official "cliques" have formed from each of the three major sectors (military, industrial and academic, respectively). Despite this, the cliques are only there for organizational purposes, and do not view each other as direct competition, since they all have the same goal in the end, which is to preserve the state and reunify the Mainland. BERNHE0504 and Tiberius live in this territory (although Tiberius moved from somewhere else) and were chosen to be the president and vice-president, respectively, for 8-year-long terms. However, the both of them have rather little executive power, mainly being there to coordinate the technocrats and sign bills.

Recent shifts within the party (especially after the Arimexican Debacle) have drastically weakened the Ultramilitarist Clique, which has allowed the declining Industrial Clique to stabilize and the ultra-technophiliac Accelerationist Clique to dominate the political scheme of Greater Illinois, with them holding over 50% of the senate. However, support for the Canadian War has not faltered, and both the Industrialists and Accelerationists have pledged their support to the Militarists in that endeavor. However, this decline was short-lived, ever since the LFA decided it would be a good idea to potentially give the Arimexicans access to advanced bombing capabilities and the unexpected manifestation of the Dacian Confederation. For now, the Accelerationists lead the party, while the Militarists and Industrialists enjoy nigh-equal parity.

In case of emergencies, a backup protocol exists called Command Precedence. This power allows a certain clique (or even two at a time in absolute emergencies) to access even more power within the Senate and House, including the ability to make their own vetoes, the ability to filibuster and the ability to request things from other departments with more power. However, a tripartisan supermajority is required for Command Precedence to be enacted to prevent abuse of this system. Given the hyper-cooperative nature of the clique system, Command Precedence has proven to be an extremely effective means of damage control. However, it's still a delicate balance, so it's enacted only when absolutely necessary.

The ACL, being a partisan movement, has a clearly-defined leader who calls most of the shots. That man is Patrick. He just wants to praise God, for Christ's sake! As of late, the Christians have been granted a small territory in northern Michigan, nominally ending the conflict. Well, at least that's over with.

Military and Capability

Greater Illinois is a very interventionist state that is surrounded on all sides by hostile powers. As such, they have spent exorbitant amounts of resources on making a rather small, yet extremely potent and advanced army.

Troop count is around ~75,000, with a few confirmed (yet completely unknowable) special forces detachments. However, there have been reports of androids in deployment abroad. Artillery systems are the main backbone of the new USArmy, and while the troops can definitely hold their own against any adversary, the entire point is to delete enemy infantry and vehicle before they have a chance to cross the border and/or evacuate cities. In fact, given the extremely advanced nature of their artillery and cities, the Greater Illinois homeland is extremely hard to invade. On war maps, the cities of Chicago (the new capital), Springfield, Gary, Indianapolis, Lafayette, Madison and Milwaukee are considered "black zones" because of how heavily-defended they are. Given the extremely direct and efficient nature of the Greater Illinosian system, remnants of the Central Intelligence Agency quickly fled to Greater Illinois and live on as the de-facto intelligence division. Also, they have extremely advanced AA systems, which scare the living shit out of literally everyone because they're so accurate & efficient that they can shoot individual bombs in freefall out of the sky if the need arises. And then, finally, for real this time, there's the fact that they are the only state in existence that has access to actually-reliable anti-nuclear countermeasures. For this reason, they have begun to secretly build a sizeable nuclear stockpile (with a final desired amount of 250 ICBMs and 50 SRBMs) without the threat of nuclear retaliation. Since the merger, the desired amount of nukes has arose to at least 10,000 (8,000 ICBMs, 1,000 MRBMs, 500 IRBMs, 500 SRBMs).

Greater Illinoisian relations are quite weird, being based mainly on pure pragmatism instead of pre-collapse loyalty or even if the state reciprocates the feeling.

    During most of the state's existence, Greater Illinois has ignored the EPR, since they believed that they would be inevitably crushed by the Social Nationalists. However, as they began to embrace the free market, their infrastructure grew and grew, to the point where trade relations with Greater Illinois became possible, which Illinois capitalized upon handily. However, after the Social Nationalists and a few degenerate Russian remnants attempted (and failed) to colonize the state, Greater Illinois has since voiced uncritical and absolute support towards the EPR, since a strong ally to the East would be all but a complete death warrant for the Social Nationalists. This includes the trade of technology, accepting EPR refugees (in an extremely rare and unprecedented move by the normally-ultranationalistic Greater Illinosians) and sending copious amounts of resources over in order to help them rebuild their infrastructure. Greater Illinois also tries to facilitate relations between the EPR and the Polish Government in Exile. Vengeance is coming, and we just need a source.     The relations between the Beryist Reich and Greater Illinois have been very strong since the beginning, due to their somewhat-aligned goals and mutual hatred of Northern Germany and especially Poland. Although the Beryist Reich is unable to export to Greater Illinois directly, Greater Illinois often gives the Beryist Reich access to advanced technology and their God's Eye system, and it is also rumored that several CIA blacksites have been re-activated there in order to "process" Polish and North German dissidents

    Greater Illinois and Quebecois relationships are a rather recent phenomenon. Being the two most technologically-advanced states in the New World, both states have cooperated with each other many times, with Quebec being one of the only states that allows Greater Illinosian companies to buy port property on the Canadian coast. However, Greater Illinois does not agree with how the new Sorbian state treats the [formerly] local German population, despite their mutual hatred of North Germany, and is currently trying to calm them down and perhaps convince them to accept a few Germans back, at the behest of the the European Commonwealth and to appease their allies in the Beryist Reich. In fact, a team of Illinois researchers have made a specialized field of research dedicated to uncovering why exactly Tamara "Tammy" Vlasov hates the Teutons so much. Efforts are also underway to incite Sorbia against Poland, using the reasoning that Poland only holds new Sorbia back.

    While the Greater Illinoisian leadership finds the attempts to marry liberalistic thought and rational leadership admirable, they are not convinced that their state will be able to balance both at the same time. Nevertheless, given the distance and relatively unimportant geographic position of the state, Greater Illinois possesses no relations with Byzantium on paper, although they're open to the possibility. That was, until the Dacian Confederation manifested out of fucking nowhere. Now, due to a request from Greater Illinois' other ally, the Eastern Polish Republic, Byzantium has a choice to either accept or deny Greater Illinosian protection. And as it turns out, from the recent increase in Illinois-Byzantium relations, it succeeded. In other news, Greater Illinois has praised Byzantium's new HITECH bill. In other news, due to recent pro-Illinois political shifts, they have made the based move and have joined us in the Anti-Communist Internationale. As of late, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies are looking to sign weapons contracts with Byzantium in order to give them access to Gauss-based small arms and a few detachments of Standard Robotic Units to bolster their military. It is hoped that with these weapons, as well as backup and intel from God's Eye, Byzantium will be able to purge any threats to their state.

At the behest of this state, Greater Illinois ceased their "peacekeeping operations" in the Baltic Sea, and instead has decided to fund their anti-Polish cliques with "anonymous donations" of capital and weapons.

    Indonesia is one of those states that is great to align with in the short run. Despite the fact that it will most likely collapse in on itself in the next decade or so, they make for good trade partners and, uh, enforcers. It has not gone unnoticed to Greater Illinosian leadership that Indonesia has pissed off a TON of communist nations, so, in a deft political move, the Indonesians were swept into the Anti-Communist Internationale. Hopefully, this would antagonize the communists into attacking Indonesia (quite fruitlessly, since Indonesia is capable of ragdolling literally any communist state on the planet), which would grant everyone in the Internationale an excuse to start mass purges and economic warfare with communist states. Despite this, President BERNHE is friends with their leader, the Kaiser Emperor, but is worried about their devotion to bolstering their military. The presence of Indonesia in the ACI has also sowed confusion from other, more moderate states within the pact. For now, Greater Illinois is lightyears above Indonesia in terms of military technology, but how long will this supremacy last? As long as the militarists stay in power...everything should be fine. Indonesia will probably become more sane with time (hopefully), but for now, we can certainly weaponize their insanity. It appears that we didn't have a choice to begin with.

Now, they see Ohio as a de-militarized zone, despite Greater Illinois' short-term ambition to reclaim the Lake States and use those as a springboard for American reunification.     From the beginning, this state in particular has always appeared to have something to say about Greater Illinois, mostly along the lines of "stolen land," "capitalist pigs," "literal fascists," yadda yadda yadda...However, Greater Illinois is concerned that they will actively let foreign agents use their territory as a base to act against Greater Illinois and its goals. Therefore, tensions are extremely high between the two, and it's highly likely that, given the opportunity, Greater Illinois can and will annex the Commune. They think of the recent mobilization efforts on their end as laughable, as they use more advanced AI models in their household appliances than the Commune has within their entire industry. In other news, the conflict has sort of evolved into a kind of arms race. The nation has an uneasy peace with The Northwest Imperium and is openly hostile to East California. The border between Southern and Eastern California is highly volatile, with both sides engaging in occasional skirmishes over the border and aiding resistance groups meant to destabilize each other; the prospect of war breaking out is very plausable.

The Federative Socialist Republic of California (FSRC), often known as "East California" or simply "California", is a nation located in the western region of the former United States. Shortly after the collapse of the aforementioned country, California was united independent under a socialist banner (at least the southern region. Most of the northern region was ceded to Cascadia). It was known for its rapid industrialization project, particularly in the least developed SR (Socialist Republic) of California: Sonora, which is located in the desert region. Despite the industrialization project carried out by the government of the FSRC, the country also does its best to protect the environment (e.g. banning sports hunting, protection of endangered species like the jaguar and Mexican gray wolf of Sonora, development of green technologies, combatting the ongoing drought and California's poor air quality record, introducing programs that aim to make air in cities (especially in more developed and urban areas) like Los Angeles clean and free of any smog, restoring bodies of water that have been drying up over the past decade(s) to their natural state, etc.) at the same time yet tries to meet the material conditions necessary to achieve communism through industrialization. That is, however, until a wave of coup attempts erupted, lead by the Liberal Christian Democrats of California organization. Despite the success in repressing the attempts, the LCDC was still a self-proclaimed nation in the western region of California, however, with limited recognition, but nonetheless by many nations, particularly those that are West-aligned. This doesn't mean, however, that East California isn't critical of the East. The FSRC openly denounces both sides as being equally as reactionary, imperialistic, and chauvinistic.

Colorado

Colorado after the American collapse would have a civil war between the Democratic Republic of Colorado (DRC) and the Christian State of Colorado (CSC). The DRC would win the war and ban the Republican party and its supreme leader Lauren Boebert. The DRC is a Semi-Direct Democratic Republic on the national level but utilizes a Communalist style of government based on consensus-based decision-making on the local/county level. Economically the DRC has a Regulated Market with a strong Welfare State. To help with regulation and recourse management Colorado has a Computer program similar to Cybersyn. The economy is made up of mostly Cooperatives with some Small-Medium Sized Private Businesses and a small number of Self-Employed People and some Nationalized Businesses in some sectors of the economy. It is also important to note that all nationalized and medium-sized private businesses are required to have 50% worker ownership in the form of Board-Level Employee Representation (BLER), making Workplace Democracy a core value in Colorado business and economy. Another core aspect of Colorado's political system is a focus on Ecology, they've done this by enforcing the Green New Deal, nationalizing the recourse extraction industry, instituting a Climate Corps to offer easily accessible jobs, and having Eco-Communalism on the county level to reduce wasteful consumption.

Crushing such resistance would go against the state's core values, while allowing it to grow unchecked could pose a serious threat to stability. Additionally, the state's lack of access to ports and dependence on Quebec as its primary trade partner could limit its ability to sustain itself in the long run. Furthermore, the state's aggressive and amoral foreign policy has made it many enemies around the globe. BosWash Megalopolis

The Federal Socialist Republic of the BosWash is a state established by the ideology of BosWash Nationalism, having been established after the collapse of the United States by the current president of the FSR, Yttr Lambda. After the collapse of the states, it promoted a radical unification of the BosWash megalopolis, claiming that their occupied territories shall be returned to their rightful owners.

The FSR is an extremely progressive nation, Gay Marriage and transitional surgery are common place. The bureaucracy typically stays away from personal matters, and is reserved for governmental affaors.

Sequoyah is a nation formed through a revolution of all indigenous peoples of the region against former settler colonial masters, and their struggle for national liberation. During the 2nd American Civil War under Chairwoman Alexandria Libra and the Communist Party’s leadership, the indigenous peoples of America carved out a state of their own. Hundreds of thousands of white settlers left the country shortly after its creation, but through natalist campaigns, the population was able to recover and the country was able to prosper as the country rid itself of semi-feudal semi-colonial relations of production and advanced into socialism.
