Not to be confused with "Nixonism", the ideology of the PCBA user.

Nixonism is the ideology of the 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon. It favors big government statism and mass surveillance of political enemies.

Nixonism personality is that of Richard Nixon or his supporters.

Richard Milhous Nixon was the thirty-seventh president of the United States from 1969 to 1974, he is notable for being the only president to resign from office. Previously, Nixon had been vice president of the United States during the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 to 1961 and before that he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (for California's 12th District) and the United States Senate (for California).

During his rule, he tried to suppress the Hippie movement and started a war on drugs. He signed the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, which required federal agencies to submit statements on environmental impact. In 1970, Nixon created the EPA to centralize environmental authority. In 1972, the Marine Mammal Protection Act was signed, setting safety regulations for the display of marine mammals and giving the federal gov authority to intervene in case marine life was being threatened. In 1973, he signed the Endangered Species Act, prohibiting the import or export of species which were labelled endangered, with the law being called "the Magna Carta of the environmental movement".

Nixonism mainly believes in endorsing a realist and interventionist foreign policy, New-Federalism (gradual devolution of federal authority to the states), a harsh stance on law and order, moderate "paternalistic" economic regulation under a pro-market Capitalist specter in order to combat pollution, enforce racial integration of schools, & eliminate political figures who opposed him via dirty tricks and political sabotage.

    1. Historians claim Nixon did more in terms of desegregation than any previous president. At the same time, Nixon made use of the Southern Strategy to try and get votes from disillusioned Democrats in the South who were opposed to integration. This inconsistency can be explained by pragmatism.
