Market Communism (MarkCom) is a market-approach to communism, in which private businesses provide communes for their own workers, rather communes and industry being governed by the state, similar to Capitalist Communism.

Unlike Capitalist Communism, however, MarkCom believes that all workers within a private business should be treated equally, and given equal returns for their labour. Under MarkCom, everyone from the CEO, right down to the bottom of the ladder are given the same priveleges, such as accomodation, a company car, and a share of the company's profits, so long as they remain under the employment of the commune.

The competition between private communes is intended to keep standards of living within communes high, and substandard communes would lose their workers to communes which offer better priveleges in exchange for their labour.

    Relationships

    Friends

    • Market Socialism - Market competition, and treating all the workers equally. Great stuff. But you could create a better sense of unity among your workers if you provided homes for their families.
    • Capitalist Communism - Competing communes run by private businesses is the way to go. But it just wouldn't be fair if there was someone at the top hoovering up the profits. If it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for you.

    Frenemies

    • Marxism-Leninism - Communes are great. But if it's all state-controlled, who holds them to account? You need competition to keep standards high.
    • Keynesianism - Creating jobs and giving workers a voice is good. But everyone should be paid the same, and that money shouldn't be coming from the government.
    • Communalism - Share profits. But don't share toothbrushes.
    • Dengism - Maybe you could try letting Disney run a commune? Could be neat.

    Enemies

    • Neoliberalism - Big business running rampant, not enough competition, workers not treated well. Very bad.
    • Stalinism - Why did you burn the Kulaks' food? They worked hard and grew it themselves. You should have been learning from them. But uour artels and cooperatives were based.
