Liberaltarian Socialism is an ideology which combines characteristics of both Libertarian Socialism and Liberal Socialism. This takes the form of attempting to reach a libertarian socialist society at lest partly (often entirely) through government reform as opposed to transitionally, direct action. The majority of industry is run through worker cooperatives of various sizes, with a welfare state and the possibility of some state run industry. The state it's self would exist to protect peoples rights and liberties, both positive and negative, under a representative democracy with direct democracy at the local levels.
