Lafailleism is a culturally progressive, civically liberal, communist and black nationalist ideology from the Divergences of Darkness alternate-history headcannon of wiki user Io, its a fictional ideology that represents mainly the current of thought of the Armée Afro-Française de Libération and the different organizations that arose from it.

    History

    Historical Context

The Republic of Amazonie was one founded on slavery and was made up by two parts, Equinoxea and Antarctique, with Antarctique being build entirely on slavery and Equinoxea being mostly free of slavery and its politicians were abolitionists, in 1865 the president which was an Equinoxean would get couped by the Antarctiqueans who feared he might abolish slavery, this would lead to civil war with Equinoxea trying to secede, it would successed in its secession and Amazonie would remain only as Antarctique, the Amazonian president fearing a large slave rebellion inspired by the abolitionists in Equinoxea would abolish slavery, but with the Antarctique system being built by racial supremacy and slavery laws would be passed to keep oppressing its afro-frankish population and keeping them segregated and many in indentured servitude, and under a wider context of socialist agitation in francophone ameriga during the 1910's the communist writer, theorist and artist Gabriel Lafaille would form the Armée Afro-Française de Libération (AAFL) and days later publish the Manifeste de Libération Noire outlining the main doctrine and ideology of the organization.

    Actions of the AAFL

the AAFL would then, from its foundation act by arming black people and engaging in wide scale sabotage of industry and businesses of the ruling elite, as well as guerrilla fighting in the countryside, the increased violence of the AAFL would increase the popularity of the reactionary parties of Amazonie eventually leading to the Counsulship of Maximilian Neri who would install a fascist and white supremacist dictatorship, and the AAFL would become the main partisan organization to fight against the regime, eventually collaborating with the Coalition Antifasciste during the Crosaide du Sud, after the war and during the occupation many members of the AAFL would deradicalize and form other Lafailleist organizations that were more moderate and less based on violence, wishing to instead participate in electoral politics and other projects, but the AAFL still had a rise in membership during the counsulship of racist counsuls such as Rochefort and Massé, in the modern day however the AAFL is a mostly pacified organization specially due to the counsulship of Jean-Pierre Fouché who would mend race relations in the country

    Beliefs

Lafailleism is a Nielist (This timelines' version of marxism) ideology that believes that an organization should operate in guerrilla warfare and sabotage to eventually create enough support for a large scale revolution, at first the revolution was supposed to be a separatist one where the black majority areas of Amazonie would gain independence and create their own communist republic, but eventually that changed to a belief that they should instead take down the capitalists and install a socialist federation where black majority areas have greater autonomy. Lafailleism is a civically liberal and democratic ideology believing the government should organize itself through worker councils with the ideology being mostly inspired by council communism, Lafailleism is nationalist and also progressive believing in racial equality and Nielist Feminism but with some more radical members of the ideology being black supremacists, it is a pluralist ideology rejecting laicism.
