Kubitschekism is an ideology based on the government of Juscelino Kubitschek, former president of Brazil, known for the project "50 years in 5", which developed and created Brasília, the current capital of Brazil.

    History

    Biography

Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira was born on September 12, 1902 in Diamantina, in a colonial mansion on Rua Direita. His father, João César de Oliveira (1872-1905), was a traveling salesman and also worked in several other professions, from prospector to police chief. During a service trip, João contracted a cold that turned into pneumonia and gave rise to tuberculosis. Afraid of infecting his family with the disease, JK's father decided to go live in an isolated house, receiving visits from friends and family. João Oliveira died on January 10, 1905. The family's only income came from his mother, Júlia Kubitschek (1873-1971), who was a primary school teacher and had Czech ancestry (her surname is a Germanization of the original Czech Kubíček). . Widowed at 32 years of age and a few years after getting married in 1898, Júlia did not want to get married again, dedicating herself to her work and her two children, Maria da Conceição, nicknamed Naná, born in 1901, and JK, Nono. Júlia had lost a baby in the first months of her life, whose name was Eufrosina, born in 1900.

Juscelino's maternal great-grandfather, Jan Nepomuk Kubíček, arrived in Brazil around 1835, receiving the nickname João Alemão, probably because he arrived from a region that was not independent at the time, Bohemia, which was part of the Austrian Empire (currently part of from the Czech Republic), or for having red hair and blue eyes according to quotes from the time. In 1840, João Nepomuk Kubitschek's name appeared for the first time in a population census carried out in Serro, Minas Gerais. Jan Nepomuk Kubíček had three children, one of them Augusto Elias Kubitschek, a haberdashery merchant and Júlia's father; Another son of Jan, João Nepomuceno Kubitschek, had a political career, having held the positions of constituent state senator and vice-governor of Minas Gerais between 1894 and 1898.

As a boy, playing hide and seek with a cousin, Juscelino reportedly injured the little toe on his right foot. According to journalist and biographer Roniwalter Jatobá, this would have two consequences for JK's life. The first would be a physical characteristic, as he would no longer be able to take long walks and the pressure from the shoe would cause discomfort. The second would be professional in nature, due to the dedication of the doctor who treated him, who influenced him to pursue a career in medicine.

    Beliefs

He preaches middle-centered capital, accelerated developmentalism, industrialism, social welfare and Kleptocracy. Some regard him as center-to-left economically, as he created state-owned companies and interfered with the economy.
