IRA is an Acronym for Irish Republican Army, a Left-wing or Third-Position system of beliefs used by Irish rebel groups in opposition to the British government and it's oppression.

    History of the IRA groups

    • The ICA - The Irish Citizen Army, or ICA, was a small paramilitary group of trained trade union volunteers from the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union established in Dublin for the defence of workers' demonstrations from the Dublin Metropolitan Police.
    • The Old IRA (original) - The original Irish Republican Army (often now referred to as the "old IRA") was raised in 1917 from members of the Irish Volunteers and the Irish Citizen Army, later reinforced by Irishmen (formerly in the British Army in World War I) who returned to Ireland to fight against Britain in the Irish War of Independence.
    • The Anti-treaty IRA - After IRA Founder, Michael Collins, signed a Treaty that gave Ireland independence but lead to the creation of Northern Ireland (A British-owned State in the North of the Country) Many members of the IRA turned against Collins and reformed the IRA, this lead to the Irish Civil War between the Newly Independent Irish Government and The Anti-Treaty IRA.
    • The PIRA - Provisional Irish Republican Army, and informally as the Provos, was a Marxist Irish republican paramilitary organisation that sought to end British rule in Northern Ireland, facilitate Irish reunification and bring about an independent, socialist republic encompassing all of Ireland. It was the most active republican paramilitary group during the Troubles. It saw itself as the army of the all-island Irish Republic and as the sole legitimate successor to the original IRA from the Irish War of Independence. It was designated a terrorist organisation in the United Kingdom and an illegal organisation in the Republic of Ireland, both of whose authority it rejected.
    • The OIRA - The Official Irish Republican Army or Official IRA was an Irish republican paramilitary group whose goal was to remove Northern Ireland from the United Kingdom and create a "workers' republic" encompassing all of Ireland. it is a Marxist-Leninist sect and is self-proclaimed Communist.
    • The CIRA - The Continuity Irish Republican Army, styling itself as the Irish Republican Army, is an Irish republican paramilitary group that aims to bring about a united Ireland. It claims to a direct continuation of the original Irish Republican Army and the national army of the Irish Republic that was proclaimed in 1916.
    • The RIRA - The Real Irish Republican Army, or Real IRA, is a dissident Irish republican paramilitary group that aims to bring about a united Ireland. It formed in 1997 following a split in the Provisional IRA by dissident members, who rejected the IRA's ceasefire that year.
    • The Pan-Nationalist Civic Front - The Supporting movement sent from the Catholic Church to the IRA during the Troubles, after the Church spent years condemning the violence they came in defence of the Irish people during the height of the Troubles.
    • The IRA splinter groups - There exists many "Splinter Groups" that came from the Original IRA and currently engage in civil discourse with the media and the general public, most of them have Catholic values and are always prepared for War.
