The Galactic Republic is an intergalactic governing body from the Star Wars universe. It operated with 3 branches of government under a constitution. Representatives from diffident planets would be elected to the Galactic Senate, who would choose from their own ranks someone to act as Subprime Chancellor, similar to a 
parliamentary system.
