Crowleyism is an authoritarian, culturally left wing, and esoteric ideology based off the teachings of Aleister Crowley. His ideas have carried on into the modern day, in the religion of Thelma.
Beliefs
Religious Eclecticism
Crowley drew on nearly all major mystical traditions, such as Jewish Kabbalahism, Hermeticism, Buddhism, and so on. The only religion he seemed completely uninterested in was Christianity, which he hated.
Cosmology
Crowley spoke of various different types of supernatural creatures, with it being unclear how many of them he actually believed in. He that through ritual and an expression of will, one could work chances upon the physical world. This was a form of magic, or as Crowley spelled it "Magik." He thought that magicians should keep careful study of there spells.
True Will
Thelma teaches that "do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" and that "every man or woman is a star." This doesn't mean people should do whatever they desire in the moment, but rather, that there is a "true will" that each person most deeply desires, and that it should be the goal of there life to discover this true will and bring it to fruition.
