Authoritarian Individualism, or AuthInd for short, is an 
authoritarian, most often 
economically centrist and socially ambiguous 
individualist ideology that supports the implementation of a system that combines a 
strong, centralised state and authoritaritive control over the political sphere with an emphasis on the individual and their will and liberties outside of any external determinants such as society, morality, 
tradition and culture, opposing the 
collectivist nature of most 
authoritarian 
ideologies.
One of the most common variants is closely related to 
post-libertarianism, seeing a strong authoritarian government as integral to truly defending 
individual rights and liberties, embracing individualist philosophy and opposition to collectivist ideas and 
state control of information but rejecting typical 
libertarian political systems. It sees as the state being able to provide safety and the means for the individual to make their most of the existence and achieve true flourishment, reconciling the apparent disconnect between authoritarianism and individualism. Furthermore, Authoritarian Individualism often supports alternative forms of governance such as 
meritocracy, standing in opposition to 
democracy, which it sees as simply the 
tyranny of the masses and thus incompatible with a truly individualistic society.
