People's Democracy is a 
democratic, authoritarian left, and socialist ideology that dominated much of the Eastern Bloc countries. People's Democracy became advocated after WWII which believed that multi party popular fronts were much better at reaching socialism than one party proletarian dictatorships of the Soviets. 
Mao Zedong also advocated for a similar ideology under the ideology of New Democracy.
Beliefs
People's Democracy is a type of dictatorship of the proletariat that uses multi-party democracy rather than soviets to achieve dictatorship of the proletariat. In a people's democracy, a multi-party democracy as one united popular front will achieve the path to socialism. The parties in the united front are all social democratic, socialist, and anti-fascist parties. People's democracy base is also wider because it allows both the petite bourgoise and progressive bourgeoise into the democratic process as well. People's democracy believes that adding more parties will allow running socialism a lot easier.
